United for sport and community: groundbreaking begins on ITIS A. Rossi’s new multi-purpose field with support from Gruppo Boschetti

On June 6, 2025, the laying of the foundation stone for the new multi-purpose sports field at ITIS A. Rossi in Vicenza was celebrated. This project renovates the old outdoor basketball court, which had fallen into disrepair and was no longer safe to use. It stands as a concrete example of a community rallying around its school: alumni, public institutions and private partners pooling their energy and resources to give students a space for growth, togetherness and sporting well-being.
A shared investment
The €270,000 project is based on a co-financing model unique in Italy: €170,000 was raised by alumni through the “Rossi Palestra d’Impresa” initiative, launched in 2022 and involving over 50 companies, four banks and numerous individual donors; the remaining €100,000 comes as an extraordinary contribution from the Province of Vicenza, owner of the school building. The Gruppo Boschetti has also joined with its ongoing commitment to the territory, underscoring the company’s bond with the local community.

The value of belonging
A large number of past and current students attended the ceremony, alongside headmaster Alberto Frizzo; Mariano Magnabosco, president of the Alumni Association; project founders Lorenzo Cracco and Ivan Tomasi; Province President Andrea Nardin; provincial councillor for school construction Enrico Costa; Vicenza Mayor Giacomo Possamai; and Councillor Cristina Balbi. “Our alumni’s commitment shows that Rossi is a school of human as well as academic growth,” noted President Nardin, himself a former student. “Supporting schools means investing in the future of our territory.”
A quick and transparent process
Designed by Baldisseri & Zancan Architetti Associati and entrusted to Sartori S.r.l. Impianti Sportivi, the project includes renewing the playing surface and covering the field with a side-open tensile structure to ensure year-round use. Work began in June and will be completed by October, so the new facility can serve students in the next school year without disrupting classes.
Public-private synergy
“We are seeing a collaborative model that cuts through bureaucracy and speeds up project delivery,” highlighted Councillor Costa. The Municipality of Vicenza oversaw the urban planning procedures and issued the necessary permits, completing the chain that turned an idea into reality.
With a history stretching back to 1878 and over 18,000 technicians graduated to date, ITIS A. Rossi in Vicenza continues to strengthen its reputation for excellence: the new multi-purpose field will be more than just a sports facility—it will be a symbol of community, innovation and shared responsibility.
