A new standard for quality control at Gruppo Boschetti
03 Dec 2025
As part of the ongoing improvement that has always defined our approach, Gruppo Boschetti continues to invest in cutting-edge technologies to provide customers with fast, reliable quality control aligned with modern metrological standards.
With the introduction of a new image-based dimensional measurement system at the Montecchio Maggiore facility, the Group takes another important step toward greater automation and process traceability.
1. A technology designed to elevate metrology to a new level
The new system is among the most advanced solutions in the field of optical measurement.
It features a 20-megapixel CMOS sensor and a dual telecentric lens, enabling the detection of edges, profiles, and geometries with higher accuracy than traditional instruments.
Thanks to an advanced contour-recognition algorithm and sub-pixel processing, the system can analyze even the smallest details while maintaining consistent accuracy regardless of the operator.
2. Faster, more stable, and fully traceable inspections
One of the key advantages of this technology is its ability to perform dozens or even hundreds of measurements automatically within seconds. The system recognizes the components placed on the measurement plate, identifies the measurement points, and instantly provides repeatable, homogeneous results. This allows the quality department to:
- reduce verification times,
- eliminate operator-related variability,
- ensure high repeatability of results,
- increase the number of inspections without impacting production flow.
Automatic data logging also makes it easy to compare different batches and monitor process trends over time.
3. Versatility for 2D and 3D inspections on components of various shapes and materials
Beyond speed, this new technology offers outstanding flexibility.
Thanks to its modular configurations, dedicated accessories, and interchangeable imaging units, it enables both 2D and 3D inspections on components with different geometries, thicknesses, and materials. This makes it possible to measure:
- flat or three-dimensional elements,
- components manufactured through bending, stamping, or welding,
- complex parts with holes, grooves, edges, or mixed surfaces,
- delicate or small components.
Its ability to adapt to diverse application scenarios makes it a valuable resource across all production departments of the Group.
4. A real advantage in every phase of the production process
The new system enables fast and reliable inspections at every stage of the production cycle:
- incoming, to verify materials and components supplied by partners;
- in-process, to validate tooling, adjustments, and setups;
- outgoing, to confirm product conformity prior to shipment.
This improves process control, reduces production start-up times, and ensures consistent quality standards across all the sectors we serve: automotive, vending, HVAC, industrial electronics, metal furniture, and many others.
5. Technology investment as a strategic choice
The introduction of this system is not just a technical upgrade—it is a strategic investment supporting long-term competitiveness. Investing in advanced control technologies means offering customers greater reliability, faster lead times, reduced variability, and increasingly accurate service. In a market that demands precision, consistency, and full traceability, integrating advanced metrological solutions into daily quality activities represents a concrete advantage.
A continuous commitment for Gruppo Boschetti
The new optical measurement system reaffirms Gruppo Boschetti’s commitment to continuous improvement, attention to detail, and the adoption of technologies that constantly elevate production standards.
